Another first

 

 

 

 

Last Thursday, Kieran fell and scraped his chin up badly. It looked like he might have split it open; it was hard to tell through all the blood. Since it was late in the day, I took him to the emergency room. Luckily, it only looked bad; the fall gouged out a lot of skin (yes, that's the lucky part), but the cut didn't go all the way through. They applied some glue and sent us back home. He was very good at the ER; he was overwhelmed by the new surroundings and people, and so lay perfectly still while they were checking him out. He watched very attentively, but didn't seem to be greatly distressed. Whenever it was just the two of us, he wanted to walk around and check things out. Uma only lasted 3 months before needing an ER trip, so I guess Kieran's doing pretty well to have lasted this long.
